ISRAEL: ‘PALESTINIANS TO THE BACK OF THE BUS!’
Welcome back to AMTV News, I’m your anchor Topher Morrison. It’s magical monday, March 4th, 2013. Our headline today is Israel’s peculiar institution, but first a little more about sequester.
Sequester Storm Threatens Washington D.C.
“Let the sequester begin,” writes John Schoen of NBC. “The nation’s capitol and nearby Virginia and Maryland will likely feel the worst of the impact.” Reason being – they pipe in on a daily basis the armies of bureaucrats, regulators, clerks and lobbyists necessary to keep the perpetual debt machine running. But Wonderland U.S.A., also known as the counties surrounding our beloved national capitol, might be due for a little austerity, after all they were largely spared from the fallout of the 2008 financial crisis, from a brief look at the last few years you might even call them ‘Recession Proof!’
Why? Well for starters the top three wealthiest counties in the U.S. surround the Capitol: Loudoun, Fairfax and Arlington. 7 out of the 10 wealthiest counties are also surrounding D.C. all of which boast unemployment rates half the national average, somewhere between 3 and 4 percent! The largest employer by industry was “government,” Texas might have oil, California might be the Saudi Arabia of food, but in Wonderland government is big business! The sequester as we’ve discussed before is not a ‘cut’ in the real sense of the meaning. It is merely reducing the rate of growth on Captiol Hill.
Palestinians to the Back of the Bus?
Not really they’re all getting their own buses as Israel looks to implement an old favorite – ‘separate but equal.’ Only this time they have an ironclad excuse to fend off accusations of racial segregation after years of suicide bus bombings – national security. The Israeli Transport Ministry has set up the new buses allegedly because of continued ‘security threats’ and regular fights between commuting Israelis and Palestinians, but the ministry assures those concerned the new system is “designed to improve the service for [the nearly 30,000] Palestinians entering Israel” for work every day.
You say tomoto I say apartheid. You say potato, I say Jim Crow. You say you Stand With Israel, I ask again – why?
Now drivers who operate the Afikim bus company, which operates the Trans-Samaria route in question say they won’t deny services to anyone, however, the checkpoints along the route will feature friendly soldiers who will with kid gloves escort any Palestinian who mistakenly finds themselves on the wrong bus.
After reliving the Holocaust for decades via Hollywood, and having just ended Black History Month here in the U.S. if anyone has questions whether or not history repeats itself look no further.
