AMTV News: Gary Johnson’s Ohio Upset & Gitmo’s ‘Scariest Drug’

Welcome back to AMTV News, I’m your anchor Topher Morrison.  It’s Monday, October 1st, 2012.  Our final production video can be found at the bottom of the page.

[US/POLITICS]

Will Gary Johnson Strip Romney of Ohio?

Reason & Tom Mullen

It looks that way.  He’s polling at over 10% in the bellwether state of Ohio, a must win for presidential candidates and he takes mostly from Romney/Ryan.  Why? He’s a real conservative.  He vetoed 700 bills as New Mexico’s governor, balanced the budget without raising taxes unlike Mr. Romney and took on the expensive War on Drugs.  He also carries some liberal honey with him pro-gay marriage, pro-choice, and among other core liberal principles Obama has failed on is anti-war.  People scoff voting third party is “throwing your vote away,” but as Tom Mullen of the Washington Times notes in a recent column, “the only way to “throw away your vote” is to vote for someone you know is going to betray you.”

Gitmo Detainees Fed ‘World’s Scariest Drug’

Sydney Morning Herald, Fox News & Wikipedia

It’s called scopolamine and according to the Sydney Morning Herald every prisoner in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba enjoyed a dose from one  degree to another.  We don’t know how much because records are classified.  Scopolamine, covered recently by Vice, is allegedly used in large doses as a mind control substance while preventing the subject from remembering anything.  It is interesting to note the extensive list of repeat offenders involved in high-profile incidences being released from Gitmo over the years.  The latest example was allegedly involved in the attack on the U.S. Consulate in Libya.

U.S. Presidential Debates Turn 52

George Will & Real Clear Politics

Geroge Will offers up some great questions to ask the candidates this Wednesday, but he also obliquely derides the format of the presidential debates themselves calling them “two-minute regurgitations of rehearsed responses.”  I think we can all agree with that.  Today’s debates reaffirm the relationship with the mainstream media, it tailors and couches criticism in ways the candidates can navigate with ease.  What about no moderator?  Have at it boys!  What about each candidate picking a panelist to question for instance or a previous candidate?  Buzzers, mute buttons, etc. Something!

Dollar’s Sharpest Devaluation Since 2011

Bloomberg & 24/7 Wall Street

After Ben ‘QE to Infinity and Beyond’ Bernanke almost ran out of toner last month padding the proverbial pockets of his pals on Wall Street we’ve experienced two milestones.  One, the Chinese Yuan reached a record high against the greenback since it began trading in 1994 and two, the dollar suffered is sharpest decline since 2011, declining 2.1 percent in the third quarter.  Pay it no mind according to the likes of Paul Krugman, growth comes from above after all.

China Delivers Crude Supertanker to Iran

Zero Hedge

It’s nice to have friends and Iran still has the right ones, namely Russia, India and China a nice size of the world population.  On Friday China delivered 12 crudesupertankers to Iran and effectively overrode the Western sponsored sanctions, but not a peep, at least not publicly from the world’s developed and insolvent.  Hurdles to overcome for Iran is underwriting the ships and supplying them with permits for port of calls.  After that it should be smooth sailing due East – right?

Best CIA & Mossad Spies are Women

Forbes

Is this really news..? They’ve an unique ‘ability for multitasking,’ willing to spy on anyone for valuable information to share with their friends and they’re better at ‘playing a role,’ which is to say they’re better at telling you things you want to hear.  Makes sense right!?  Being the physically ‘weaker sex’ they’re naturally attuned to any environment, their ability to ‘spot and assess’ objectives or potential threats is keen, great at nurturing foreign assets, they’re always talking about being ‘better listeners’ and their cover story is… I lost my train of thought…

California First State to Ban ‘Gay Cure’

NBC News

California has settled it; you’re born gay, end of debate.  Any attempt at trying to dissuade you from a homosexuality under the pretext of ‘therapy’ by a state licensed therapist is now a crime – that is if you’re under 18, I think.  The bill sponsored by Democrat State Sen. Ted Lieu is an attempt to purge “the relics of prejudice and abuse that have inflicted untold harm on young LGBT Californians” according to Equity California.  In one fail swoop defining ‘therapy’ and ‘attraction.’

GMO Reality Show

RT

After Russia temporarily put the putsch on Monsanto’s GMO corn kingdom in light of new evidence from French scientists their GMO’s cause cancer, a scientific study seeking to prove or deny the GMO controversy will be made into a reality TV show.  Not exactly the most exciting idea, I would be loath to edit that mountain of video.  March 2013 supporters and opponents of GMO products will conduct the experiment jointly for the world to see.  All they need is $1 million.
