NSA leaker Edward Snowden is granted political asylum by Russian President Vladimir Putin on Thursday and the United States is closing all of its American embassies in the Middle East and parts of Asia as part of an al-Qaeda related threat? Coincidence?

I’m Christopher Greene and you’re watching AMTV, ALTERNATIVE MEDIA TELEVISION.

According to the mainstream media, “the United States is closing all of its embassies Sunday in the Middle East and parts of Asia because of a possible al-Qaeda-related threat to diplomatic posts worldwide. The U.S. has been “apprised of information that out of an abundance of caution and care for our employees and others who may be visiting our installations, that indicates we should institute these precautionary steps,” said a State Department official close to the White House.

So why would the United States suddenly be shutting down all of its American embassies in the Middle East on Sunday, the same day as President Barack Obama’s much awaited 52nd birthday and also the same day as the inauguration of Iran’s new president?

Snowden who has been granted asylum by the Russian government with a temporary 12-month residence permit, which can be extended indefinitely at the discretion of Vladimir Putin, that is if he still needs him in 12-months and Snowden isn’t actually killed by counterintelligence, will be free to roam Russia at his leisure and will have his choice of accommodation and vodka. Snowden’s Russian attorney says he will be free to “live in a hotel or rent a flat in Russia” but his personal safety is still a very serious issue for him and he still misses his girlfriend.

Does anyone else find it strange that with hordes of photogs, journalists and media camped out at Moscow’s Sheremetyevo airport looking for the most wanted man on the planet that they were only able to snap this single, blurred backpack photo of Snowden leaving the airport on Thursday? What has he been doing the rest of the time over the past month or two and where has the Russian government been hiding him? How has he been eating, sleeping, and going to the bathroom?

White House press secretary Jay Carney said the Obama administration is “extremely disappointed” with Russia’s decision to allow Eddie Snowden to leave a Moscow airport – a decision it made without giving the White House a heads up.

The decision came “despite our very clear and lawful requests in public and in private to have Mr. Snowden expelled to the United States to face the criminal charges against him,” Carney said.

“He is [also] accused of leaking classified information and has been charged with three felony counts, and he should be returned to the United States as soon as possible, where he will be accorded full due process and civil liberty protections.” Yeah, tell that to Bradley Manning.

AMTV subscriber Justin Case comments, “I never thought I would live to see the day that an American would need to escape to Russia and seek asylum from the evil that has clearly over taken the USA. Our government [i]s gone, replaced by pure evil and cannot be fixed. Our liberty, free market and economy has been dismantled. To those of you idiots who will vote republican or democrat next time… Well, I hope your families suffer for your ignorance. “

Subscriber Danger McBacon weighs in ‘“Russia, a “safe place to live” LOL! Just don’t cross any streets there boy, you’ll get killed by those 3rd world, drunk ruskies 7 times out of 10.”’

And what if the Snowden leak was reversed, and let’s say Edward Snowden a Russian whistleblower, would the Obama administration not welcome ‘Snowdy’ with open arms and a high five or two in order to bitch slap President Vladimir Putin and protect his rights as a whistleblower?

How is Edward Snowden not being controlled by Russian intelligence at this point and does he really have independent sources of information and communication with the outside world?

A Russian intelligence source close to Snowden mentions “We are all perfectly aware that Snowden, who has just received asylum, does not face any danger in Russia. American intelligence does not kidnap or assassinate people in Russia, that’s a fact.” Really? Really? Is that really a fact?
